Here Comes the Poetry Bus!

by | Apr 27, 2021

Charter Oak Cultural Center is proud to present The Poetry Bus, a CT Transit vehicle featuring excerpts from poems written by our Youth Arts Initiative students. Working with YAI teaching artist and Poetry on the Streets founder Melanie Faranello, the youth created poems inspired by Frederick Douglass and Robert Hayden’s poem “Frederick Douglass.” Read the full poems written by our Hartford Young Writers and Word Up students here on Poetry on the Streets’ website
The Poetry Bus is on the streets now and can be seen around Greater Hartford’s thoroughfares and byways through June 6! If you see it, snap a picture and be sure to tag it on Instagram with @charteroakarts and @poetryonthestreets.
