To mark this year’s World AIDS Day on December 1, Charter Oak will present “Without You,” a public art action.
The Charter Oak gallery space will house an array of blank panels on the walls and floor of our space. Anyone in our community is invited to visit our space and transform a blank panel into art.
Commemorate the loss of a loved one to AIDS. Respond in art to the AIDS epidemic. Share the experience of living with AIDS. Each blank space becomes a monument to both the history of the disease and the future we look towards without it.
The gallery space will be open from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. for participation in the action and for viewing of the exhibit. Throughout the day, we’ll also be screening a curated series of video interviews, news reports and AIDS-inspired short films.
“Without You: A World AIDS Day Public Art Action” will take place from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. on December 1. For more information, call 860-310-2580 or visit www.charteroakcenter.org.
